if you're curious... fly at 75% speed into a ring.... it will automatically drop you out of super cruise when you're close enough. then you can fly around. | ||

also, you cannot fly through planetary rings.... but you can mine them for materials. mining is another big activity. | ||

supercruise is great... and awful. most times it works, sometimes it throws you into a planet because its dumb. you just take a bit of damage that you can repair at the next station. | ||

you can now see how a site like Coriolis is helpful. at higher levels you have a million options and you can plan your ship ahead of time before you even build it. then you can use inara to find where the items are that you need and fly there | ||

you just fly close enough to the star to scoop, but not close enough to overheat. |
