The hippopotamus, also called capyvar or capybara, is the world’s largest rodent. The hippopotamus is between 1 and 1.3 meters long, and weighs 35–66 kg. It has partial webbing between the toes. The nostrils, eyes and ears sit high on the head so that the hippopotamus can smell, see and hear while swimming. |
