@krastorius I would personally buy AMD and TSMC stock ahead of then, but that's me :^)

Sep 29, 2021 00:27:33

krastorius

Lisa Su (AMD) said these days, production will ramp up at second half 2022
Sep 29, 2021 00:27:24

keep those conversations more simple pls

@tcSONGS boxman. I design the machines and am privy to their yields. yields are not lower.

@edgewalker69 TSMC and Intel, but the important one is TSMC because they are the only ones on <7nm which constitutes a literal strategic asset, is a reason taiwan is under threat of invasion, and why biden just singed $29B for them in funding.
Sep 29, 2021 00:26:20

boxman600

@tcSONGS Maybe with the specific chips you make... However, the yield on high-density chips is much lower, which is why both AMD and intel are changing their manufacturing processes for how chips are made ot deal with the yield issues...

TSMC's machines are my machines -- and we are on a very long timeline even for the immediate future. all major IC companies have already increased capacity as much as they can and are running the machines ragged
Sep 29, 2021 00:25:43

edgewalker69

Who are the companies moving production to Phoenix? And from where? Taiwan?
Sep 29, 2021 00:25:11

tcsongs

you think TSMC would allow us to charge them for LESS yield? absolutely not
Sep 29, 2021 00:25:02

krastorius

@edgewalker69 mining demand, higher demand from companies and customers, problems in production because corona
Sep 29, 2021 00:24:55

tcsongs

boxman I am LITERALLY responsible for what you're talking about. yield is not down.
Sep 29, 2021 00:24:49

gravemouthcoh

i want xcom's opinion on ridiculous graphics card prices in the lasy year or so
Sep 29, 2021 00:24:39

edgewalker69

So not simple after all Kappa
Sep 29, 2021 00:24:30

boxman600

@boxman600 Huh? of course it's true, the yield on higher-density chips is much lower
Sep 29, 2021 00:24:15

tcsongs

crypto is a factor in GPU pricing, but china just banned crypto, so...
Sep 29, 2021 00:24:04

1aveator

also crypto burning chips?
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:56

tcsongs

@boxman600 not true at all but okay
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:47

boxman600

High demand on chips and the yield of chips is lower now
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:32

tcsongs

@edgewalker69 misprojection of demand. they expected it to be low, it was high, and now they don't have time on the fabs. apple has no issues because they correctly forecasted
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:29

elnur009

I already have a mockup
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:15

elnur009

@tcSONGS can you design something for me sir songs?
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:10

gravemouthcoh

@tcSONGS any chance they will accept you back to reborn clan if you make a discount for them? CoolStoryBob
Sep 29, 2021 00:23:09

supply is low while demand is rising. Simple
